On Friday, February 7, the Alf Engen Ski Museum will celebrate the start of the 2014 Winter Olympic Games by hosting the grand opening of our two new exciting attractions: a virtual indoor ski-flying experience and the new “Ted Ligety Hometown Hero” exhibit. The thrilling virtual ski experience simulates riding a four-person quad chairlift that lifts, dips, sways, and bobs in unison with breathtaking scenes projected on a giant screen.  Sponsored in part by Adobe Systems, the 2 ½-minute ride also includes a light breeze and snow-like flakes that fill the air.  The ride regularly costs $5.00 but will be free from 10:30 to 1:00 on Friday.  The “Ted Ligety Hometown Hero” exhibit showcases racing gear and other items donated to the museum by the Park City native and reigning World Cup champion.  Ligety is expected to be one of America’s top chances for gold in Sochi, Russia. To attend this event on Friday, February 7th from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m., please RSVP to Connie Nelson, Executive Director of the museum or log on to www.UtahOlympicLegacy.com for more information.
