Keith Lange started skiing when he was eleven years old. Keith became a full-certified ski instructor in 1951 and certified Master in 1958. Over a 23-year period, Keith was instrumental in developing instructor training and examination criteria. He also served as an examiner for more than 20 years.
Keith was President and Vice President of the Intermountain Ski Instructors Association (now PSIA-I) and served on the PSIA Board of Directors for 23 years. He was a PSIA Demolition Team Member for 10 years and coached the Women’s Intermountain Jr. National Team as a guest coach at the 1960 Winter Olympic Games in Squaw Valley.
As a competitor, Keith was well known for his Gelande jumping and won first place in the first National Gelande Competition. Keith also competed in the Snow Cup as well as other alpine and nordic events.
Keith Lange is National Lifetime Member of PSIA and continues to be an active instructor at Alta. He has taught people to ski for more than 40 years.
